Was asbestos ever used in batt -type insulation which looks like fiberglass or is asbestos easily identifiable?

Asbestos
I bought an old house that has what appears to be some yellow and some white fiberglass batt insulation in the attic. Can asbestos be mistaken for fiberglass batt insulation?

In an old house I suppose there could be some asbestos in the batting but I think it would mostly be fiberglass. Asbestos was used in a lot of things prior to the 70′s. Most often as around steam pipes and boilers. The fibers are usually white or tan, fine textured, and are easily damaged and disfigured. Fiberglass is more boinky and springs back in shape easier. I would collect some various fibers and have them examined at a Lab. Or at the very least, find a microscope and check them out yourself. These fibers are well documented and sample pictures can be found on the WEB to compare.
