Asbestos
On occasion, my brakes scrub and squeak after a day of driving. It’s only be 10 months since they were replaced. The dealership says this is normal since asbestos were banned. Is this true? There a 12/12 warranty and its about to expire.

Probably just some brake dust..

might have alittle dirt in the brakes, it is no issue. If you wish you can take to car wash and lightly clean them with soft spray…..

first you shouldnt be at a dealer for auto care last place to be going they know the least.. and sure brakes dont last forever so it depends on the type of pads that was used and how one drives the car on how long they last.. smart thing to do is to go to any other place but a dealer and say would you check my brakes.. and really all you have to do is jack it up and remove tire and look at brake pad to know pad should be thicker than the medal backing they are glued to…my wife changes her own brake pads and rotors its not a hard job anyone can do brakes and dealer will be the highest place

The most likely cause as the first two people pointed out is dirt and other road debris. There are other causes as well. Suggest you open and read your owners manual. It is explained in there.

If they were wearing out, it would constantly squeak. Just rinse the brakes off.

more than likely it is nothing more than brake dust. either that or the pads are just prone to squeak. if you have a warranty go back.
