Please snopes this for me…I got it from a friend and I trsut her…is it true that some tampon/sanitary pad makers put asbestos in to makeyou bleed more so you’ll buy more of their product????

   To round this up for those in the bleachers, there is no asbestos in tampons. Depending on the brand, there might be minute amounts of dioxins in some of them, but not (according to the FDA) enough to harm anyone. Thinking consumers might want to reduce their contact with dioxins anyway, trading comfort and absorbency for a bit more peace of mind.

    Use of asbestos is illegal. Buildings have it ripped out at great expense.
    In addition if used like an abrasive it would cause entirely different bleeding and pain.
