Asbestos

Our houses are right next to each other (attached).

I heard that asbestos is only harmful when they are being removed and that the particles travel through the air…

Depends who is removing the asbestos and how. If they are professionals who specialise in removing asbestos you will probably be OK. Otherwise, I would get out until the work is finished and the site cleaned up. Doesn’t take much asbestos to do a lot of damage.
