I am working in a place where they are knocking down a wall and the place is covered with dust while I had to sit here and breathe it in…I am scared the building is old and I may have been exposed to asbestos…Please help me ease my mind!!!!!!

Today I visited an abandoned hospital to take pictures and of course we trespassed and went inside to look around; not much to see just a lot of empty halls, graffitti, broken glass, and destroyed things. There were warnings of asbestos but we paid no attention. The building was built in 1922 but abandoned in the mid 80’s so you can imagine the types of things that are growing in places like these. I didn’t touch anything really, just doors. I felt a little bit asthmatic in the place, as I have really mild asthma, but should I be worried about being around asbestos for about an hour?

I know there’s all this talk about asbestos and it killing people. I’m possibly doing the most stupid thing ever but I’ve come across some Chrysotile (white asbestos) thread and I’ve made a string bracelet out of it, I’m using it for random stuff I’d use normal string for and there’s dust coming off of it all the while. I don’t really mind though, I know I probably will die a lot younger than average as I’m 15 now but does anyone know how long I could live for? like what’s the worst that could happen or the the longest I might live to? Before you ask, Yup I am being serious.

I live in tokyo and a 7-storey apartment-complex just across will be demolished from feb1 till Oct.,I just got some letter…ANYWAY reason is asbestos,level 2 and 3,they say its not airborne-asbestos?must be removed.As my family,I have kid of 9 and a dog ,wont know what to do and are so worried about our health-risks..does anybody have experienced same thing?WHAT kinda measures can we or should we take ourselves to prevent any risk and what are our rights and when do you know things have gone wrong in case of asbestos???Any good advice please
