Get a specialist. What if it got onto your clothes or hair? Then you could carry that out to others.

Depending on what it is you can do it youself but would need to wear old clothes, a mask, have plenty of sealable plastic bags to put it in, double seal it, and take it to a place where they deal with disposing of asbestos. If the asbestos is inside the house this isn’t ideal as breaking off the asbestos and carrying it around the house will leave dust eveywhere. You’d possibly want to take it in a van rather than your own car to prevent asbestos dust building up in your car.
In general it’s safer to get specialists to do it for you.
Given how cacinogenic it is, I’d advise a specialist especially if there are young people around.
