Asbestos in workplace?

Asbestos
I am a new mother and just came back to work. They are doing a bunch of remodeling at my work (in a museum) and near me, they are remodeling a hall. They closed the closest office near this one hall that had a really horrible smell. Now I got in my email today that absolutely no one should go in that office due to asbestos in the air. The office door is closed but it isn’t an air-tight seal. I do smell some chemicals. I am still breastfeeding and I am really worried I might carry asbestos or other chemicals to my family at home! I am waiting to hear back from my doctor. What do you all think? Should I go home? Will i get paid? probably not huh?

the question you should ask yourself is Will the baby grow up healthy and sound?
probably yes,
will the baby like the taste of asbestos in your milk,
probably not
the doctor’s decision will matter most, you can show it to your employer.
really stay away from that room. and no no one is going to air seal it. it is too costly.
